[Comparative study of the effect of preservatives on the viability of the Mycobacterium populations]

A radioisotope method was applied to study preservative properties of the transportation medium and the cultural one-- chlorhexidine bigluconate was used at varying exposures. Advantages of the transportation medium over 0.2% chlorhexidine bigluconate were demonstrated using Academia H37Rv and Bov-8 strains for the purpose.
