Isolated right-sided valvular endocarditis in non-intravenous drug users

Isolated right-sided endocarditis in non-pacemaker, non-intravenous drug users (IVDU) is uncommon but presents with significant complications. Staphylococcus aureus was the most frequent pathogen, often linked to intravascular catheters.

- Isolated right-sided endocarditis should be considered in patients with febrile illness, respiratory symptoms, and predisposing conditions, even without typical risk factors.
- The presence of intravascular catheters and Staphylococcus bacteremia should increase suspicion for endocarditis.
