Summary

Venous needle dislodgment (VND) during haemodialysis (HD) can cause fatal bleeding. The European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association (EDTNA/ERCA) developed 12 recommendations to prevent and detect this serious complication.
