Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) lipoprotein profiles, specifically very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) concentration and high density lipoprotein (HDL) particle size, predict type 2 diabetes. However, this profile did not enhance prediction beyond triglyceride levels.
