HLA class I molecules consistently present internal influenza epitopes

Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) recognize influenza virus epitopes presented by HLA class I molecules. This study identified specific viral peptides from internal proteins, like nucleoprotein and PB1, consistently presented by HLA-B*0702, guiding CTL recognition.

- CTL primarily recognize these consistently presented internal viral epitopes, suggesting a focused immune response against conserved viral components.
