Abstract:
The glycosaminoglycan component (GAG-S) of Matrix was shown by electrophoretic and 13C NMR analyses to be a low-molecular weight chondroitin sulfate. NMR analysis also indicates that the internal composition of GAG-S is 72.5% chondroitin 6-sulfate and 27.5% chondroitin 4-sulfate, with a degree of polymerisation corresponding to about forty monosaccharide residues.
