Background:

Pancreas transplantation is a vital treatment for type 1 diabetes mellitus (TDM).
It is indicated for TDM patients with severe complications like nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, or dangerous glycemic fluctuations.
The first simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplant occurred in 1966, with Taipei Veterans General Hospital performing its first in 2003.

Purpose of the Study:

To review the efficacy and outcomes of pancreas transplantation.
To highlight the role of pancreas transplantation in managing type 1 diabetes and its complications.

Review of pancreas transplantation procedures and outcomes.
