Abstract:
Previous articles in this series have sought to present an historical chronology of events that have produced the healthcare environment of today. The government has been examined by reference to direct political materials and to the literature produced by the Department of Health. This article and the next aim to concentrate on a review of the current picture; of the mechanisms created by government designed to direct and oversee the regulation of certain sections of the healthcare workforce.
