Summary

Visual field defects are common in optic disc drusen, particularly in visible drusen cases. These defects correlate with visual acuity loss and abnormal visual evoked potentials (VEP).

  • Eyes with visible drusen showed a higher incidence of visual field defects (76.3%) compared to buried drusen (46.5%).
  • Abnormal visual evoked potentials (VEP) were also more frequent in visible drusen (44.7%) versus buried drusen (20%).
