Kathleen Mears Memorial Lecture: rising to the challenge of electroneurodiagnostic licensure
1Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
Abstract:
The primary function of licensure is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public and patients. In the state of Alabama, electroneurodiagnostic (END) technologists have been working toward getting a licensure bill passed. The purpose of a licensure bill is to establish a law, a regulatory board, and procedures that will ensure that the public is protected from unprofessional, improper, unauthorized, or unqualified END technology practices. Patients and the public demand competent healthcare professionals.
