Summary

A new single-operator method for double-balloon endoscopy (DBE) is as effective as the traditional two-person approach. This efficient technique allows for diagnosis and treatment throughout the small intestine without increased complication risks.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the clinical usefulness of a one-person DBE method.
  • To compare the efficacy and safety of single-operator versus dual-operator DBE.
  • To evaluate the potential of single-operator DBE as a replacement for the conventional method.

  • Retrospective comparison of 303 DBE procedures (162 patients).
  • Methods compared: one-person (Grip and Pinch, Keep and Slide techniques) vs. two-person DBE.
