Context:

Postburn scar tissue presents unique challenges for reconstructive surgery.
Conventional Z-plasty techniques often result in flap tip necrosis due to tension and compromised vascularity.
Dermal blood flow is frequently impaired in burn scar tissue, increasing complication risks.

Purpose:

To introduce and evaluate two technical modifications to the conventional Z-plasty procedure for treating postburn scar tissue.
To address the high tension and inadequate vascularization issues that lead to flap tip necrosis.
To improve the success rate and aesthetic outcomes of Z-plasty in burn scar reconstruction.

The study proposes modifications to Z-plasty, including initial base flap anchoring instead of tip suturing to reduce tension.
