[Ultrasound changes of maternal kidneys of an uncomplicated pregnancy]
Pregnancy is associated with substantial physiologic and haemodynamic alterations in maternal urinary tract. There is an increase in the glomerular filtration rate, renal blood flow and various size of dilatation of calices, pyelon and ureters. Maternal pelvicaliectasis is a frequent physiological [corrected] phenomenon during pregnancy. Ultarasound Doppler examination is helpful in following the changes in renal blood stream during uncomplicated and complicated pregnancy. It is noninvasive and highly informative method.
