Summary

Fatigue and muscle pain in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) are not caused by altered muscle metabolism or impaired muscle activation. Azidothymidine (AZT) did not show evidence of causing mitochondrial myopathy in AIDS patients.
