Hand-assisted laparoscopic restorative proctocolectomy (HALS-RP) reduced operative time compared to conventional laparoscopic restorative proctocolectomy (LAP-RP) in ulcerative colitis patients. HALS-RP offers similar safety and recovery benefits, suggesting it may replace LAP-RP.
