Prevention of propofol pain: a comparative study

Adding lignocaine to propofol significantly reduces injection pain. Both medium/long-chain triglyceride (MCT/LCT) and long-chain triglyceride (LCT) propofol emulsions with lignocaine are effective, showing no significant difference between them.

- Propofol MCT/LCT emulsion alone does not reduce injection pain compared to lignocaine-premixed formulations.
- Both propofol MCT/LCT and LCT emulsions demonstrate comparable efficacy in pain reduction when combined with lignocaine.
