  • Investigation of parameters including electrolyte, anodic potential, time, pH, and calcination conditions.
  • Utilizing a thin-cell photoelectrocatalytic reactor for COD analysis.
  • Comparative analysis with the standard K2Cr2O7 method.
  • Main Results:

    • Optimized TiO2 nanotube array electrode prepared in 1% HF, 20V, 5min, 450°C showed high photoelectrocatalytic performance.
    • The method achieved rapid COD determination (1-5 min) without titration, significantly faster than the standard method.
    • A wide dynamic working range (0-850 mg/L) was established, exceeding other photoelectrocatalytic methods.
    • Real sample analysis demonstrated good agreement with the standard dichromate method, indicating accuracy, stability, and reproducibility.

    Conclusions:

    • The developed photoelectrocatalytic method using TiO2 nanotube arrays is a highly effective and rapid technique for COD determination.
    • This method offers significant advantages over traditional approaches, including speed, reduced environmental impact, and a broad working range.
    • The method shows excellent potential for practical application in water quality monitoring.
