Observation:

  • A whole-body 18-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (FDG PET/CT) scan was performed.
  • The scan revealed increased FDG uptake in the right bronchus.

Findings:

  • The increased uptake corresponded to a foreign body identified on CT.
  • Bronchofiberscopy confirmed the foreign body was a fishbone.

Implications:

  • FDG PET/CT can detect non-malignant conditions mimicking cancer.
  • Timely removal of foreign bodies is crucial for symptom resolution.
