Background:

Health Level Seven (HL7) v2 focuses solely on the messaging layer of eHealth interoperability.
HL7 v3 introduces transport specification profiles and message choreographies, increasing implementation flexibility.
Existing HL7 testing approaches lack the adaptability to accommodate diverse protocols and dynamic scenarios.

Purpose of the Study:

To present a comprehensive test execution framework for HL7-based systems.
To enable dynamic setup of test scenarios across all interoperability layers (messaging, business process, communication).
To facilitate flexible and adaptable testing of HL7 implementations.

Main Methods:

Development of a complete test execution framework for HL7 systems.
Introduction of high-level constructs for dynamic test scenario configuration.
Creation of a computer-interpretable test description language with pluggable adaptors.
Implementation of Web-based Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for remote testing.
