Background:

Gluteoplasty augmentation literature is limited, with few reported clinical series.
This study addresses the need for more data on gluteal augmentation procedures.

Purpose of the Study:

To report on the authors' extensive experience with intramuscular gluteal augmentation.
To establish guidelines for performing this surgical procedure.

Main Methods:

A 15-year retrospective review of 160 female patients undergoing intramuscular gluteoplasty.
Utilized textured silicone gel or silicone elastomer implants in various sizes (250-cc, 300-cc, 350-cc).

90% of patients (144/160) achieved satisfactory aesthetic results.
A 10% complication rate (16/160) was observed, including seroma, asymmetry, capsular contracture, overcorrection, and implant rupture.
