The Zespol system is a new method for stabilizing broken bones. Traditional plates often failed because they were tightened directly to the bone. The Zespol system avoids this by using a special clamp made of a plate, platform screws, and nuts. This design allows surgeons to perform different types of bone fixation. The system was tested in over 1,200 cases, including fractures and pseudoarthroses. Most patients healed within 18 weeks, and the success rate was high. Only a small percentage needed additional surgery, and most had good or fair results. The system can be used both inside and outside the body, making it versatile for different types of bone injuries.
