Nurses are in a prime position to provide support to parents when a baby is born extremely premature and then expires. How the nurse responds to the shocked and grieving parents will impact how they experience and remember their loss. This article is a personal account of an unsuccessful neonatal transport. The nurse recalls the circumstances surrounding this event and the results that followed.
