Summary

Event-related potentials (ERPs) analysis using discriminant analysis accurately classified trials. This method identified the P3 component and early ERP differences, improving target and non-target trial discrimination.

Event-related Potentials During Target-response Tasks to Study Cognitive Processes of Upper Limb Use in Children with Unilateral Cerebral Palsy

  • High-dimensional discriminant analysis applied to single ERP trials.

    • A common classification rule achieved 88% accuracy in classifying target and non-target trials across all participants.
    • Early ERP components over occipital sites showed significant differences in four participants.
    • Individual classification rules, using data up to 200 ms, achieved 85% accuracy on test data.
