Background:

Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy agent used for various cancers.
Neurotoxicity is a common and dose-limiting side effect of oxaliplatin treatment.
Acute neurotoxicity often presents with cold-induced sensory disturbances.

Observation:

A patient receiving repeated oxaliplatin infusions developed blepharoptosis, a drooping of the upper eyelid.
This specific neurological symptom was not widely documented in existing literature.

Findings:

The onset of blepharoptosis appeared to correlate with oxaliplatin administration.
Resolution of the blepharoptosis was observed and seemed dependent on the rate of oxaliplatin infusion.

Implications:

This case highlights the potential for varied neurological presentations of oxaliplatin-induced neurotoxicity.
Understanding the relationship between infusion rate and symptom resolution may inform clinical management strategies.
Further investigation into specific neurotoxic mechanisms of platinum derivatives is warranted.
