ACE polymorphism and response to electroconvulsive therapy in major depression

The angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) gene did not predict electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) response in major depressive disorder (MDD). However, the ACE I/D genotype was linked to earlier depression onset, particularly in males and female heterozygous carriers.
