Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare mortality rates between Alaska Natives and white residents (U.S. and Alaska).
  • To analyze trends in mortality rates over a 25-year period (1979-2003).

  • Age-adjusted mortality rates were calculated using SEERStat* software.
  • Comparisons were made between Alaska Natives (AN) and U.S. white residents (USW), and Alaska white residents (AKW).
