School bus pollution and changes in the air quality at schools: a case study

Summary

Diesel school buses increase ultrafine aerosol pollution near schools. This study found significantly higher particle counts and elemental carbon concentrations at a school with bus traffic compared to a control site, indicating a contribution to children's exposure.
