A preliminary study of functional connectivity in comorbid adolescent depression

Major depressive disorder (MDD) in adolescents shows decreased functional connectivity in fronto-limbic brain networks, particularly involving the subgenual anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). This suggests altered emotion processing circuitry during teen development.
