Summary

Forkhead box protein 1 (Foxp1) and Forkhead box protein 2 (Foxp2) are expressed in distinct V1 interneurons in the developing spinal cord. These transcription factors may regulate neurotransmitter classes and functional subtypes of non-Renshaw cells.
