Background:

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a complex psychiatric condition.
  • The hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis plays a role in mood and behavior regulation.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis function in patients with OCD.
  • To assess the response of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), prolactin (PRL), and growth hormone (GH) to thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) stimulation in OCD patients.
  • To compare these responses between OCD patients and healthy controls.
