Overlap syndrome (OS), the combination of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), is prevalent. Daytime hypercapnia correlates with severe sleep-disordered breathing and nocturnal hypoxemia in OS patients.
