Continuous progesterone treatment with depot medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) reduced mortality and kidney disease in a lupus mouse model. DMPA modulated autoantibody production, suggesting potential therapeutic benefits for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
