Background:

Acne affects a significant portion of the population, often leading to persistent, difficult-to-treat scars.
Rolling acne scars can cause considerable aesthetic distress and impact patient self-esteem.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of skin needling for treating rolling acne scars.
To confirm the clinical usefulness of this minimally invasive dermatological procedure.

Main Methods:

A study involving 32 patients with acne rolling scars treated over two sessions.
Photographic documentation and silicone rubber casts were used to assess scar depth and surface irregularity.
Statistical analysis included the sign test and fast Fourier transformation (FFT).

Main Results:

All patients demonstrated a significant reduction in rolling scar severity after two skin needling sessions.
Overall aesthetic improvement was observed in all participants.
No adverse effects, such as hyperpigmentation or visible procedural signs, were reported.

Conclusions:

Skin needling provides an immediate and effective treatment for acne rolling scars.
The procedure demonstrates advantages over alternative scar treatment methods.
