Area of Science:

  • Cardiology
  • Pathology
  • Surgical Oncology

Background:

  • Pulmonary stenosis can arise from various causes, including rare cardiac tumors.
  • Right-ventricular tumors obstructing outflow are exceptionally uncommon in adults.

Observation:

  • A 28-year-old woman presented with dyspnea and a pulmonary stenosis murmur.
  • Imaging revealed a mass severely obstructing the pulmonary outflow tract.

Findings:

  • The mass was surgically resected and diagnosed as a mixed capillary and cavernous polypoid hemangioma.
  • This is a rare case of adult right-ventricular hemangioma causing significant outflow obstruction.

Implications:

  • Early non-invasive diagnosis followed by surgical resection is crucial for managing such rare cardiac tumors.
