Summary

Robotic partial nephrectomy (RPN) is a safe and effective minimally invasive option for complex renal tumors. This technique successfully preserved kidney function and achieved negative surgical margins in patients undergoing nephron-sparing surgery.

  • Hilar vessels clamped using laparoscopic bulldog with warm ischemia.
  • Perioperative data and pathological results were analyzed, with follow-up ranging from 3 to 23 months.
  • Main Results:

    • RPN was performed successfully without complications.
    • Mean tumor diameter was 3.0 cm; mean operative time was 197 minutes; mean blood loss was 220 ml; mean warm ischemia time was 25 minutes.
    • Histopathology revealed various renal cell carcinomas and benign tumors. All cases had negative margins, preserved renal function, and no tumor recurrence at follow-up.

    Conclusions:

    • Robotic partial nephrectomy is a safe and feasible approach for complex renal tumors requiring NSS.
    • RPN offers a valuable minimally invasive option for technically challenging renal tumor resections.
    • Robotic assistance enhances the ability to perform NSS for complex renal masses, benefiting patients.
