Objective:
To investigate the constituents of essential oil of honeyed red ginseng, and provide scientific basis for its quality evaluation.
Method:
The essential oil was extracted by hydrodistillation and separated by capillary GC. The chemical constituents were determined by normalization and were identified by MS.
Result:
One-hundred ninety-five chromatographic peaks were detected and among them 76 compounds were identified, which were 78.27% of the total essential oil.
Conclusion:
The main constituents of the essential oil were sesquiterpenoids. Among identified compounds, 24 monoterpenoids and sesquiterpenoids were isolated from the essential oil of red ginseng for the first time.
