Severe dysglycemia with the fluoroquinolones: a class effect?

Fluoroquinolones like gatifloxacin and levofloxacin increase the risk of severe hypo- and hyperglycemia compared to azithromycin. Ciprofloxacin showed no significant difference in these glucose homeostasis risks.
