Summary

This study investigated protein changes in white matter for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Key proteins involved in cytoskeleton function were altered, suggesting their role in these psychiatric diseases.

  • Found proteins related to cytoskeleton and signal transduction were altered in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

  • Strong evidence suggests cytoskeleton disruption and associated signal transduction protein alterations in schizophrenia.
  • Similar, though less pronounced, alterations were observed in bipolar disorder.
  • These findings highlight potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for psychiatric diseases.
