Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate optical image quality and contrast sensitivity function (CSF) in patients with keratitis.
  • To compare visual performance before and after keratitis resolution using aberrometry and a double-pass device.

Main Methods:

  • Twenty subjects with keratitis and their healthy fellow eyes were studied.
  • Optical quality was measured using aberrometry (ocular aberrations) and a double-pass device (Strehl ratio).
  • Contrast sensitivity function (CSF) was assessed in all participants.

Main Results:

  • Keratitis eyes exhibited significantly higher ocular aberrations and lower Strehl ratios compared to healthy eyes.

  • Even after resolution, affected eyes may retain residual optical quality deficits.
