Summary

Adalimumab, used for psoriatic arthritis, can cause autoimmune hepatitis. This rare side effect resolved with steroid treatment after adalimumab was stopped.

  • A patient with psoriatic arthritis developed autoimmune hepatitis while undergoing treatment with adalimumab.
  • This adverse event emerged during adalimumab therapy.

Findings:

  • The patient recovered fully after adalimumab cessation and initiation of corticosteroid therapy.
  • This case represents the first documented instance of adalimumab-induced autoimmune hepatitis.

Implications:

  • Adalimumab therapy may carry a risk of inducing autoimmune hepatitis.
  • Clinicians should monitor for liver function abnormalities in patients treated with adalimumab.
