Area of Science:

  • Surgical Oncology
  • Minimally Invasive Surgery

Background:

  • Gallbladder carcinoma presents significant treatment challenges.
  • Laparoscopic radical resection is an emerging surgical option.

Observation:

  • Retrospective analysis of 4 patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection for gallbladder carcinoma.
  • Evaluation of clinical features, pathological staging, surgical procedures, and postoperative outcomes.

Findings:

  • Successful completion of all 4 laparoscopic procedures without operative mortality or complications.
  • No port-site or abdominal wall metastases observed.
  • Two patients experienced recurrence at 17 and 40 months post-surgery.

Implications:

  • Laparoscopic radical resection demonstrates technical feasibility and safety for gallbladder carcinoma.
