The effects of morphine and naloxone on caudate neuron activities in rats
1Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong Hong Kong.
Abstract:
Intracarotid injection of morphine was found to suppress spontaneous neuron activities in rat caudate nucleus. This effect was readily reversed by subsequent injection of naloxone. The possible mechanism of such morphine-induced inhibition is discussed in relation to dopaminergic neurotransmission.
