[Volvulus of the gallbladder]

Volvulus of the gallbladder is an uncommon process that is usually found at the time of exploration for an acute surgical abdomen. It results from congenital or acquired anatomical anomalies of the gallbladder. It may be complete or partial. This entity appears most often in the elderly with acute symptoms that may mimic a number of other more common abdominal emergencies. One case is report to help define the clinical and pathological features of this process.
