Observation:

  • A novel intraoral distalization technique using a Nance button Veltri appliance was employed in a patient with cooperation deficiency.
  • The patient presented with a Class II Division I malocclusion.
  • Initial attempts with extraoral headgear were unsuccessful due to non-compliance.

Findings:

  • The intraoral Nance button Veltri appliance successfully achieved molar distalization in approximately 2 months.
  • Correction of the Class II Division I dental relationship to a Class I relationship was observed in both canine and molar regions.
  • A functional occlusal relationship and improved facial esthetics were obtained post-treatment.

Implications:

  • Intraoral molar distalization with the Nance button Veltri appliance is a feasible alternative for patients with limited cooperation.
  • This technique eliminates the need for extraoral appliances and reduces reliance on patient compliance.
  • It offers a practical solution for achieving successful orthodontic outcomes in challenging cases.
