Summary

Left atrial myxoma, a common heart tumor, can present with varied symptoms. This case highlights an unusual presentation in a young boy initially mistaken for allergic dermatitis and vasculitis.

Background:

Myxomas are the most common primary cardiac tumors, typically benign and originating in the left atrium.
Left atrial myxomas can cause obstructive, embolic, or constitutional symptoms.
Common obstructive symptoms include dyspnea, pulmonary edema, and syncope.

Observation:

This report details an atypical clinical presentation of a left atrial myxoma in a pediatric patient.
The initial assessment misdiagnosed the condition as allergic dermatitis.
Subsequent evaluation suggested vasculitis as the primary diagnosis.

Findings:

The case illustrates a rare initial presentation of left atrial myxoma.
The tumor's effects mimicked inflammatory or allergic conditions.
Delayed diagnosis can occur with atypical symptomology.
