Summary

The extracytoplasmic function (ECF) sigma factor PG1318 in Porphyromonas gingivalis regulates mutation frequency. Disruption of PG1318 led to decreased proteolytic activity and increased mutation rates, suggesting its role in bacterial stress response and genome stability.
