Concentric étalon for single-frequency operation of high-power ion lasers

Abstract:
The use of a Fabry-Perot étalon in a high-power ion laser to obtain single-frequency operation involves critical adjustments and results in a significant drop in the output. A modified étalon with almost concentric spherical surfaces is described. This is easy to adjust and gives high efficiency.
