Summary

Dedifferentiated retroperitoneal liposarcoma, though rare, can be successfully treated with complete surgical resection, offering a 70% 5-year survival rate. This case highlights effective management of a giant tumor without affecting neighboring organs.

Liposarcoma constitutes 0.1% of all cancers and is the most common retroperitoneal sarcoma.
Dedifferentiated liposarcoma has a high propensity for local recurrence.
Complete resection is crucial for improving patient survival rates.

Observation:

A case of a giant dedifferentiated retroperitoneal liposarcoma is presented.
The tumor did not involve or affect any adjacent organs.
The patient underwent complete surgical resection.

Findings:

Complete surgical resection of the giant dedifferentiated retroperitoneal liposarcoma was achieved.
The successful resection indicates the feasibility of radical treatment even for large tumors.
