Background:

Cardiovascular dysautonomia frequently complicates Parkinson's disease (PD).
Autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysfunction can also arise from medications or indicate other neurodegenerative diseases, such as multiple system atrophy (MSA).
Orthostatic hypotension is a primary symptom of cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction.

Observation:

Diagnostic tools, including autonomic function tests and cardiac imaging, are crucial for assessing autonomic failure.
24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a standard test for identifying significant autonomic failure requiring intervention.
Orthostatic hypotension symptoms range from weakness and light-headedness to syncope, often exacerbated by various triggers.

Findings:

Supine hypertension frequently coexists with orthostatic hypotension.
The prognostic significance of cardiovagal and baroreflex dysfunction remains under investigation.

Implications:
