Prospective and retrospective ECG gating for thoracic CT angiography: a comparative study

- While contrast load was slightly higher with prospective gating, it yielded improved aortic attenuation values.
- Image quality, in terms of motion and banding artifacts, was equivalent between both gating techniques.
